Wessex League Round 11 ( Fareham Wheelers )
Round 11 at fairthorne manor was renowned for its general all round course, being open grassland, single track, road & the occasional sand pit!
Got off to a flying start after being seeded on the second row, first lap I managed to stay out of any trouble and hold 13th it was after the first lap I got caught in a few incidents within the small group I was racing against.. Which led me to drop back into another small group of riders Julian man of VC Venta & James Evens of NWRC.
Between three of us we swapped places regularly after making silly mistakes in the technical areas and getting caught with back markers, toward the tail end of the races I managed to pull a lead on the chasing pair only for Julian to come back at me alone with two laps to go.
The final two laps seemed as if one of us makes a mistake it’s all over we managed to stay with touching distance of each other until the final turn when Julian made he’s move on the inside to line up for a sprint finish, he pushed me out to the tapes which left me with little room but once a gap opened out I gunned it to the line to beat him.
Overall was a good day on a brilliant all round course conditions where tough but I enjoyed it finishing in 20th position out of 50 riders and can’t wait to head back the the venue in January 2016!

As you can see there is mud involved
